July 13, 2008 Avery Grace was dedicated at The Lord's Table. Pa Pa Moore prayed over her and was a big part of the dedication. It was special because he has been a big part of the dedications of his grandchildren. We also incorporated Chris's prayer shawl. This prayer shawl is special because in Jewish custom the betrothed wife gives the shawl to her betrothed husband before the ceremony. 5 years ago before we got married, I gave that prayer shawl to Chris and then in at our wedding we were "covered" with it at communion. We also had a Hebrew marriage prayer spoke over us by Pastor Pete Cerny. The Jewish custom is from Ruth when she and Boaz were joined. Boaz used his shawl to symbolize his covering over Ruth as head of the house. At the baby dedication Chris wanted his prayer shawl placed over us with Avery symbolizing that Avery now has the covering of our household. It was a blessed and special moment for us all.
